Book Nook Volunteers Needed!

The Book Nook is looking for volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year.

What is the Book Nook?
The Book Nook is a quiet place for students to read when they are finished with their lunch and want a quieter place to spend their remaining lunch time.

What are the Volunteer’s Responsibilities?
Volunteers supervise the students until it is time for them to return to their class.  Volunteers may use the quiet time in any manner they choose, such as reading, paperwork, or catching up on emails.

Open Houses

Parents and students of Great Bridge Intermediate School are invited to Open House to meet their child’s teacher.  This is an opportunity to hear classroom expectations and individual supply needs from their teachers prior to the first day of the new school year.  The Open House schedule is staggered by grade level to accommodate parking needs.  The schedule for the 2018-19 school year is as follows:

3rd Grade – 8/30 @ 6pm
4th Grade – 8/29 @ 6pm
5th Grade – 8/29 @ 7:15pm

Thank you!

As we rapidly approach the end of another school year, the PTA would like to thank you, the parents, for your donations and support.  Your generous contributions has allowed the PTA to put nearly $5,000 back into Great Bridge Intermediate School throughout the school year.  This money has been spent on:

  • 5th Grade End-of-the-Year Party
  • Bookshelves for the library
  • BrainPop
  • School Improvements
  • Student Aid
  • Teacher Appreciation

In addition, the PTA has made a $14,000 donation to GBI to be used for the purchase of Chromebooks for student use.

Without the support of parents, the PTA would not be able to give back to the students and teachers the way we do.  THANK YOU!
